Emeka Offor was born on the 10th of February 1957 to Mr and Mrs Benneth Offor in Kafachan, Kaduna, Nigeria. He hails from Irefi Oraifite in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State, Nigeria.

Offor had his primary education at Eziukwu Primary School in Aba, Abia State, and St. Michael’s Primary School at Ogbete, Enugu. On completing his primary education, he began his secondary education at Merchant of Light School, and subsequently moved to Abbot Boys High School, Ihiala, Anambra State.

On the 10th of May 2019, Offor received an honorary Doctorate Degree in Entrepreneurship from the Nnamdi Azikwe University. He is married and blessed with children.

Emeka Offor Early Career

After Secondary school, Emeka Offor taught in his Alma Mata – Abbot Boys High School, but quit after a short while. He was convinced there were better opportunities for him outside his home town. Therefore, he left his village with his father’s former colleague – Pa Geoffrey Abadi to Warri, Delta State.

In Delta, he got a job as a transport clerk with Rivways Lines Nigeria Ltd – a company that imports bitumen products. While working with Rivways Lines, Pa Abadi encouraged him to learn the rudiments of the business. Subsequently, Pa Abadi helped Emeka in purchasing and supplying small quantities of bitumen to smaller companies.

In a space of two years, Emeka Offor started supplying bitumen to bigger companies like Julius Berger Nig. Ltd, Guffanti Nigeria Ltd, Fougerolle Nigeria Ltd, etc. He was successful in business because of his dedication, integrity, commitment and business acumen.

In 1985, Sir Emeka Offor knew it was time to expand, so he established Chrome Oil Services Limited in 1985. Chrome Oil Services Limited metamorphosed into The Chrome Group in 1994.

Emeka Offor established The Chrome Group in 1994 in Abuja, Nigeria. The company currently employs over 800 people and it’s a leading multi-million dollar conglomerate with interests in oil and gas, power, logistics, insurance, broadcasting, and telecommunications. Chrome Group has a vision of becoming a leading world-class conglomerate.

Kaztec Engineering Ltd

The company is one of the fastest-growing engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) companies in Nigeria. Kaztec was established in 2005.

The company got its breakthrough project in 2007 when it received the engineering, procurement, and construction contract from Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) to construct a 24-inch diameter, 107-kilometer long gas pipeline that would be used in transporting gas to a gas-fired power plant in Calabar.

After completing the project satisfactorily, Kaztec was awarded another contract from the same company in 2009. This time, to rehabilitate and upgrade its gas metering facilities and perform integrity assessment tests on some of its existing gas pipelines.

Since then the company has completed several major projects in the country and received an ISO 9001:2008 Certification. Kaztec Engineering Ltd is also a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) and Pipeline Professional’s Association of Nigeria (PLAN).

Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC)

The Electricity Reform Act of 2005, birthed the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company with Emeka Offor as Chairman. EEDC has three core values: integrity, customer service, and performance. The company’s primary function is to adequately provide and market power supply in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo State.

Global Scan systems Technology Limited (GSTL)

GSTL is an indigenous company that provides its global clientele with petroleum, and allied products inspection services. The company has installed requisite laboratory and communications equipment that it uses to satisfy the diverse needs of its numerous clients.

Blaze 91.5 FM

Blaze FM is an independent commercial radio station that transmits on 91.5MHZ in the FM Band. The radio station is located in Oraifite, Anambra State, and it is equipped with a 10kw-FM transmitter and a dipole antenna mounted on a 750-foot mast. With Blaze FM’s standard equipment, the radio station covers most of the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.

Kiss 99.9 FM

99.9 KISS FM is an adult contemporary radio station that keeps its listeners up to date with news, current affairs, and community events. The station attends to listeners between the ages of 20 – 55, middle class to upper-income bracket, living in Abuja. KISS FM’s reception area covers Abuja and its immediate environs including Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Niger state.

Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF)

The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (SEOF) is a non-governmental organization that was established by Emeka Offor in the early 1990s. It was registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act in 2006 to help people become independent and self-sufficient.

The Foundation’s goal is to assist the less privileged in the society, and also provide support in human capacity development, skills acquisition, and the establishment of small and medium enterprises (SME’s), and cooperative societies.

SEOF has made an impact in the lives of several Nigerians through its domestic programmes and projects which include a Youth Empowerment Programme, Widows Cooperative Programme, Education Programme, Health Service Programme, Infrastructure Development Programme.
