Apply: African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge

African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge

Applications are currently ongoing for the African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge.

Young people throughout the world are leading the charge for climate action. They are battling for their futures, whether in their neighbourhoods, at their places of study, or directly lobbying governments and corporations.

The Global Center for Adaptation (GCA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) has collaborated on a shared mission to accelerate climate adaptation action through the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP).

The body believes that young people have a critical role in discovering and implementing solutions for strengthening resilience and reducing the adverse effects of climate change.

With the African Youth Adaptation Solutions (YouthADAPT) Challenge, the AAAP will inspire and support the commercialization of climate change adaptation solutions driven by the entrepreneurial drive of African Youth entrepreneurs in Africa.

The YouthADAPT Challenge demonstrates the efficacy and equity of involving young African entrepreneurs in adaptation action. It supports the ‘missing middle businesses in terms of funding, with winners awarded a business grant of up to $100,000 each. Also, there’s an opportunity further to develop their ventures through business support and acceleration.
