Stanbic IBTC Set To Hold Her Annual Youth Leadership Series 2020 Event

The event will hold on Wednesday February 12, 2020 and will converge agricultural experts to discuss the theme Techriculture – The Evolution.

The Youth Leadership Series (YLS) is an annual event of the Stanbic IBTC. It is fashioned after the Business Leadership Series and designed to engage and empower young Nigerians to become future business leaders.

The program since inception has witnessed the gathering of local and international experts who has presented inspirational values to participants. Youth Leadership Series 2020

The Youth Leadership Series, 2020 edition will centre on Technology and Agriculture. It will feature talks and lectures from agripreneur experts like Samson Ogbole, CEO Farm Lab; Yewande Kazeem, Founder, Wandieville Media; Seyi and Seun Abolaji, Co-Founders, Wilson’s Lemonade Nigeria.

Samson Ogbole

Samon Ogbole is popular for his innovative approach to agriculture through his ‘soilless farming’ (working more in the lab than on the farm). He is the lead trainer for Farm Lab and co-founder, PS Nutraceuticals Int. Ltd. Besides that, Samson is the Chief Agricultural Adviser for Viridian Science, South Africa and Mechanical Electrical Electronics Engineers, Canada.  

In 2018, Ogbole was recognized as one of the top 7 innovators in Africa by CNN Africa. Also, in 2019, Forward Fooding listed him as one of the top 500 food techpreneurs. In addition, he is a two time TEDx speaker and a one-time TED Idea Search speaker. He has also been featured on local and international news based on his creativity and entrepreneurial drive.

Yewande Kazeem 

Yewande Kazeem is the founder of Wandieville Media and over time has connected media to agriculture. Her company, Wandieville Media is a communication and educative media company that provides positive impact on global development issues. Yewande champions this through campaigns, powerful visual and captivating stories. 

Also, she has some work experience at Dangote Farms – Dansa Holdings and has carried out different Agricultural Projects. She managed the tomato processing facility project in Kano State and other agricultural projects in Nigeria. 

In addition, Yewande has worked with Central Bank of Nigeria, Bank of Industry, World Bank, e.t.c. She has also been involved in a lot of policy and discussion on behalf of private sectors with several ministries and organisations in Nigeria. Yewande is passionate about impacting small scale farmers, urban farming, school planting programs, research and technology. She aims to fed 9 billion people in the world by 2050.

Seyi And Seun Abolaji

According to Stanbic IBTC, Seyi and Seun Abolaji began the Wilson’s Juice Company with N2000 in 2010. But, today, the company has grown beyond doubts. The two brothers are the co-founders of the Wilson’s Juice, a company that produces lemon juices into uniquely designed bottles. The product can be found in over 650 locations and 18 states in Nigeria.

When asked about how the company began Seun said, “Could we have started this company in the United States? I doubt it. We would need 10 million dollars maybe three, and that’s the beauty of Nigeria you can have a Naira and a dream.”
