The YLEAD Virtual Fellowship 2020, a flagship program of iKapture Network is calling for applications from aspiring young leaders in Nigeria. This opportunity is open to young people (age 15-24) within the secondary, post-secondary, and pre-university stage.

The program will take place virtually from October 5 – 30, 2020. And, classes will run on virtual learning spaces like Zoom, Google Jamboard, and Classroom for interactive learning and engagement.

About YLEAD Virtual Fellowship 2020

The Youth Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Development (YLEAD) Fellowship is an immersive capacity building program. It is designed to educate, engage, and equip young people with skills to prepare them for the world of work and transition from school to career. It is a four-week leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal development program designed for students and secondary school graduates as well as out-of-school youth in Nigeria.

The program duration is four weeks; 1 week of training, 2 weeks of internship, and 1 week of mentoring engagement and reflection exercises.

  • Week 1: The participants will receive scheduled virtual lectures from YLEAD well-structured modules on different topics. This will be covering Leadership, Personal Development, and Entrepreneurship. Icebreakers, games, puzzles, illustrations, and PowerPoint slides will also be employed to engage and educate the students.
  • Week 2 and 3 – Remote Internship and Business Simulation Exercise
  • Week 4: Selected Mentors (external and internal) from different fields will be matched with students for guidance.
  • Then, the 10th Anniversary Celebration Event and Awards as a wrap-up.

YLEAD Virtual Fellowship 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The YLEAD program is open to aspiring young leaders who may be students, graduates and out-of-school you.

To be eligible, you;

  1. Must be between the age of 15 – 24 years
  2. Must have attempted JSSCE or SSCE
  3. You must show interest in learning new skills and participate in group activities
  4. Must attain 75% attendance in the training program
  5. Must be of good behavior and willing to interact with people of different background, tribe, and religion
  6. You should have an interest in volunteering and having a mentor

Please Note: If you are selected, you will be required to pay a commitment fee of N10,000 to be able to participate in the life-changing program.

The program fee will cover;

  4. Learning Resource

However, a limited number of need-based partial scholarships (of up to 50%) are available for participants. If you find interest in it, you may apply for the scholarship alongside your application.
