About Green Institute Internship
The Green Institute Internship is a 6-month innovative virtual program for garnering knowledge, skills, and experience in the field of sustainability. The program aims to nurture college students and fresh graduates (not more than two years), thereby bridging the gap between education and career development. This is by offering participants on-the-job-training and experience for effective employee development.
In addition, a capstone project is required in partial fulfillment of the program, which is geared at providing sustainable and innovative solutions to existing local challenges.
Basically, participants are expected to carry out an innovative solution ranging from policies, advocacy, or education to products, services, and business models that address a particular challenge. The project is then judged based on innovativeness, depth of impact, and scalability. And, the participant with the best community project is awarded a grant of $1000.
The Internship program builds participants by empowering them through capacity building and critical thinking skills. This program will help you to become eco-conscious, ethical, and entrepreneurial leaders in your communities and the world at large.

Eligibility
To apply, the criteria include;
- You must be a student of an academic institution or graduate of not more than 2 years
- You must be available to participate and possess requisite digital tools such as a computer and internet connection
- It is open to all nationalities.
Skills
Some of the skills that will stand you out include but not limited to; web development, graphics designing, content writing/copywriting, business development, data analysis, managing social media, proposal/grant writing.
2021 Green Institute Internship Timeline
Stage 1: Preliminary Assessment
You are to sign up for the Greeners Tribe platform and complete your profile. After signing up, upload a 60-second video pitch on the issue provided in the platform.
Step 2: Evaluation
The second phase engages applicants in threads of discussions, unlocking your thinking capabilities, personality trait, and leadership style. You will be assigned a task matched with your skills to access your proficiency level. This stage begins on 26th January 2021
Stage 3: Interview
Thereafter, you’ll undergo a 15-minute interview with the Director of Internship and discuss your previously assigned tasks. Interview dates are between 22 – 25 February 2021.
Stage 4: Acceptance
Then, the highest performing participants are accepted into the Green Institute Internship Program. You’ll receive your acceptance Letter on 20 March 2021.
Step 5: Internship
Internship Period: Starts 5 April, 2021
