The international ‘Start Up Energy Transition’ (SET) initiative invites young and innovative companies around the world to apply for the Start Up Energy Transition Award 2020. It is an award for business ideas in the energy transition and climate protection. Also, the award is in its fourth round and kicked off in Stockholm, Sweden.

Applications are welcomed until 15 January, 2020 at Start Up Energy Transition website. Over 1300 start-ups from 88 countries have participated in the three past years.
Start Up Energy Transition (SET) is a global innovation platform that supports innovation in energy transition. SET is in its fourth year and is implemented with the conviction that a sustainable future is directly linked to innovative business models and political will.

The SET platform is primarily comprised of the SET Award, the SET Tech Festival and a growing global network. Also, SET publishes a list of top 100 most promising and innovative start-ups yearly.
The award is an initiative of the German Energy Agency (dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council.

Procedure For Applying For Start Up Energy Transition Award
Applications for Start Up Energy Transition Award can be submitted in five different categories:
- Renewable Energies and Materials
- Digital Energy Systems
- Energy Efficiency Solutions
- Smart Mobility
- Special Prize: Quality Access & SDG-7
The three most promising applicants in each category will be invited to pitch their ideas at the annual summit of the SET Global Innovation Platform, the SET Tech Festival, in Berlin on 24 March 2020.
